The Macroom FC Academy teams cater for younger players from the ages of 7-11. All football in these age groups is non competitive meaning there are no official league and cup competitions and no trophies to be won. The main consideration at this stage is the overall enjoyment of players, who are slowly being introduced to soccer in a safe environment where having fun is the main objective. The variuos leagues do issue guideline fixtures so players get to play other clubs in small sided friendly games. Macroom FC also regularly arrange blitzes and invite other clubs to attend as well as travelling to other clubs who are hosting. These prove very popular among Macroom FC academy teams. There are currently teams for boys U7, U8, U9, U10 and U11 and girls are also catered for with U9, and U11 teams.
